Hi,

I'm new to this mailinglist... so I'll start of introducing myself. I'm Jurgen, age 35, from Belgium and mainly love Open Source, not working in it professionally (though I convinced my boss into a few small projects already).

I'm running Ooo.org 3.0.1 (build 9379) under Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex and a JDBC connector voor de database connection.

I'm trying to edit a MySQL database, but I'm having 2 different problems. I'll explain them both here:

*1. Can't create relationships between tables*
In the "Relationship Design" view, I can place all my MySQL tables... but I can't get any connections. I tried dragging and dropping, I tried using the "New Relation" button.

Somewhere I read that Relationships are possible between MySQL tables since Ooo.org Base 2.4
I'm not succeeding. What am I missing?

Although this won't help much:

It _is_ possible to link tables using the combination you're using. It
works using these versions:

$ mysql
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 1 to server version: 4.1.22

$ lpkg | grep java
javavmwrapper-2.3
mysql-connector-java-5.1.6

$ lpkg | grep jdk
diablo-jdk-1.5.0.07.01

$ lpkg | grep ffice
de-openoffice.org-2.3.0
de-openoffice.org-3.0.20080330

$ uname -mrs
FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE i386

Maybe you have some non-standard design regarding primary keys or
something ...

HTH anyway,
Marc
Okay... Here come my results (not running FreeBSD but Ubuntu though):

$ mysql
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 465
Server version: 5.0.67-0ubuntu6 (Ubuntu)

$ apt-cache pkgnames | grep jdk
openjdk-6-source-files
openjdk-6-demo
sun-java5-jdk
cacao-oj6-jdk
default-jdk-headless
openjdk-6-dbg
default-jdk
sun-java6-jdk
openjdk-6-doc
openjdk-6-jre-headless
openjdk-6-jdk
openjdk-6-jre
openjdk-6-jre-lib
default-jdk-builddep
openjdk-6-source
jdk1.1

$ uname -mrs
Linux 2.6.27-11-generic i686

For the overview and versions of the other ones, I used Aptitude (don't know the simple linux command):
Openoffice 3.0.1-1u
libmysql-java 5.1.6+dfsg
sun-java6-bin 6-10-0ubun
sun-java6-jre 6-10-0ubun

It's not as specialized in the CLI, but I did my best to provide a similar information set (I'm afraid I'm one of those "Microsoft brewn linux adept who don't know a decent commandline anymore and need a gui to scratch their back")

Thanks for looking into it.
