No that is not the case.
The problem happens when the file is created (or the Calc file changed
via the property editor) under 3.1.0, not when it is opened.
So - In DEV300_m55 (3.2) the Base file is created with the proper path
setting.
Opening this file in 3.1.0 is not a problem.
( just tested this actually to be sure, and that is the case)

In the mean time Frank provided a build to test creating an .odb from a
.csv, since doing that in DEV300m55 showed unwanted characters at
certain fields.
So I installed that OOo_dba32e_090821 on Win XP to test.
Creating an .odb from the cvs results in data that shows up fine.
No strange characters at the end of some fields (as I saw in DEV300m55),
thus it is the bug Frank expected and fixed in that build!
However, I did some more test, wich exchanging .odb's between different
versions. I made sure there were no quickstarters running when doing this.
(This all with .csv files - I see no errors when using an xls as file
for the datasource.)
A) When I open the .dba that I make in this OOo_dba32e_090821 in
DEV300m55, I get the error
"The connection to the data source <name> could not be established.
The connection to the external data source could not be established.
No SDBC driver was found for the give URL."
B) Opening the same .dba in 3.1.1 RC2 works fine.
C) The other way round: creating an .odb with DEV300m55 and trying to
open in OOo_dba32e_090821, results in the same error as A.
Any ideas?
