Hi Frank,

However, I did some more test, wich exchanging .odb's between different versions. I made sure there were no quickstarters running when doing this. (This all with .csv files - I see no errors when using an xls as file

                  ^^^^^

for the datasource.)

A) When I open the .dba that I make in this OOo_dba32e_090821 in DEV300m55, I get the error
"The connection to the data source <name> could not be established.
The connection to the external data source could not be established.
No SDBC driver was found for the give URL."

B) Opening the same .dba in 3.1.1 RC2 works fine.

C) The other way round: creating an .odb with DEV300m55 and trying to open in OOo_dba32e_090821, results in the same error as A.

Any ideas?

Cannot reproduce, neither A) nor C).

Is the database type properly show in the status bar ("Spreadhseet")?

I use a .csv (see above).
So, when opening the .odb, the statusbar shows 'text'.

Did you use the Linux or Windows version?

Windows.

Do other spreadsheet-.odbs work in the respective version(s)?

As written: didn't encouter probs with spreadsheets.

Sure you really ran m55/dba32e,

Yes

and weren't confused by some quickstarter or such grabbing your document for another version?

I was not sure at one moment, so tried again. (And checked again now.)
Thus the answer is no.

Can connections still live if the quickstarter is closed, but the application is still hanging around in the OS'memory?

Regards,
Cor
