Hi--

Tom, I'm not sure that your response is to me. "That should work" doesn't
compute & I've already given the details you ask for. But here goes again.

I'm running Ubuntu 13.04, LO 4.0.3.3.

When I open an rtf file that I use frequently all I get is the headings. The
text body lines have disappeared. If I do Control-A and change to Arial, I get
the text body lines. So it's a question of fonts.

First question: Previously, it seems to me, when a font was missing LO
substituted another. This is the first time I've seen just blanks. Am I not
remembering correctly or has something changed in LO?

The fonts I want to use -- Trebuchet and Candara -- show up in the list of
fonts in LO, but whenever I change to one of them I get a blank line, no insert
cursor.

I have followed my customary procedure for installing fonts--
I copy the fonts into home/.fonts.

I tried AbiWord to see if I get the same problem there. Yes, I do. But when I
go through the font list some fonts make text in Abi and not in LO, and vice
versa. Leafpad recognizes only the fonts installed by Ubuntu, none of the ones
I have installed via .fonts.

Weird.
