Have you any other versions of those fonts?
I wonder if the font files are corrupted.

I did not have that problem for me.

So the fonts are installed or sort of half-installed, and LO recognizes them to the extent of listing them, but refuses to use them.

    I just installed some of the listed fonts to my Ubuntu 13.04/MATE
    laptop.
    I used the
    "highlight" > right-click > open with the font viewer.

    Then I install the fonts with the "install button".

    I had not problems.
