Thanks for all the responses: it was all interesting stuff, hopefully for more than just me (I suspect that I was not alone in wondering what was going on!)

I am incredibly grateful that there are many different groups willing to push Grid Engine forward. However, my worries remain directed at the apparent lack of (or at least, lack of publicly visible) coordination: each group will inevitably have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Clearly, the Open Grid Scheduler project and Univa are not in a position to work together at the moment, which is sad but understandable.

What about Son of Grid Engine?
