That happens when your SMPP connection is not yet approved by Clickatell, or if you have not allowed your IP to connect (from the Clickatell web control panel).
Try telnetting smpp.clickatell.com on port 2345, you'll get the same error 92.
If you have not enabled your IP to connect, enable it and try again later. Otherwise, contact clickatell and they will fix it.
BTW, beware with prices! Clickatell raised credit cost per message in many countries without notice (at least for me) . i.e.: Cost for Spain raised from 1 to 3 credits per message! I've been rechecking my whole setup because none of my messages went thru, until I've found that they weren't send because my policy was to allow Zone 1 messages only (1 credit) and Spain changed to Zone 3 without notice ...
Regards,
PS: Are you sure ports are 2345 in both cases? Mines are 2345 for send and 2347 to receive (I dont know if they assign different ports between users...).

Hi,
I am unable to connect to the Clickatell SMPP service using kannel 1.2.1
This is the configuration I am using in the kannel.conf file.
group = smsc smsc = smpp host =smpp.clickatell.com port = 2345 recieve-port = 2345 smsc-username = "XXXXXXXXXXX" smsc-password = "xxxxxxxxxxx" system-type = "XXXXX" #The Clickatell user code address-range=""
I am satisfied that the rest of the conf file is OK because it is working with a Nokia Phone Card II. I have disabled all other services while attempting to connect to Clickatell.
The message I am getting from kannel is
ERROR: System error 92: Protocol not available ERROR: Error connecting to server "smpp.clickatell.com" at port 2345 ERROR: SMPP[SMPP:smpp.clickatell.com:2345/2345:username:clickatell code]: Couldn't connect to SMS center (retrying in 10 seconds).
If anyone is using Kannel 1.2.1 with Clickatell you might have some suggestions on what I am doing wrong.
Regards.
