I powered off, went into setup to see what it said about the battery
charging. There were no options for the batteries.
On starting the system after leaving setup, I got a message that my
external battery is not Lenovo authorized and may not fully charge!
Now I have to see about returning this battery and finding an official
Lenovo 6-cell battery?

There MAY be a hardware setting requiring resetting everything, but I
can't find the place to put in the paperclip for that, anyway.
