For the record, the kmod update hung my wife's laptop. The failure required
I add a kernel argument so I could get a prompt and delete the xorg.conf. I
am back to your dkms on the laptop and things are working fine again.
There should not be a reason for this. Could you elaborate on what exactly
happened when it 'hang' ? Did it hang during boot ? Did it panic ? Did X
crash ? Did the screen freeze ?
It would also be nice to see this xorg.conf that was deleted as well as
the one that worked with the old driver. It is quite possible that if I
release a newer version (the same one as ELRepo) the behaviour of the dkms
package is exactly the same and this is an upstream bug.
