Thanks John, it is good to know we need to look deeper at the differences
of both packages.
In case anybody is curious, elrepo recently updated their kmod-nvidia*
packages and they work on my wife's laptop.
I recommend the kmod-nvidia packages and I don't know if we want to
continue the dkms-nvidia packages ?
The nvidia update was requested by me after I reported occasional crashes
with the previous kmod-nvidia when starting kaffeine. Haven't been able to
reproduce the crashes yet with the newer version.
