Yesterday, I went to install a new HP printer and I discovered that the CentOS/rhel 5.5 version of hplip is very old and did not support my new printer. I found an article which recommended that I install the rpmforge testing repo version of hplip from here:

http://packages.sw.be/hplip/

So, I thought that I would give it a go and test it out, however, the two download links that I tried on the above page did not work:

hplip-3.10.6-0.1.el5.test.i386.rpm
hplip-3.10.5-0.1.el5.test.i386.rpm

In any event, I went ahead and downloaded the hplip source tarball which I compiled and installed on my machine such that I could get my printer working so my printer config problem is solved. However, I thought that I should send this post out to let Dag know that these links do not work. Also, for future reference, is there another place to get hplip rpm's at rpmforge?

I hope that this is the correct place to post this information. The article that referenced the rpmforge repos was:

FYI,

Gordon
