Hi Chris, What is drag and drop with shift supposed to do in excel?
In Excel, Drag & Drop with Shift enables you to rearrange items within a list or a packed field in one action, without overwriting anything or creating blank cells.
You can move a cell, or a group of cells, or a line or column, or group of lines or columns.
The cells between the old & new positions shift to make & fill the required space(s).
Using the simplest case as an example:
If you start with adjacent cells containing ABCDEF then Shift+Drag&Drop B to between D&E you get ACDBEF in one go.
Without Shift, you would end up with A_CBEF or A_CDBF unless you inserted a blank cell between D&E first.
