I'm going to guess here. Do you have the DataSource Explorer visible (F4)? When it's visible, navigate to the datasource for your labels, then select a few records, and click the Data to Fields icon on the DataSources toolbar (near the right side). If your fields in the labels are defined correctly, they should fill with the data you selected. This is how I test my labels to see if they are getting data correctly, without printing.

Hmm, well I have followed through this thread and it has helped but I still don't have this working.


I want to print a short list of members of a group with addresses and so on. It will be in 2 columns.

Amongst the problems I am having is that I don't know how it can get the results to print in columns like a phone book rather than in rows. I want the final document to be in alphabetical order reading down the first column, then the second column. Insteadd, when I am able to get it working it looks like the result will be in rows, with the second entry at the top of column 2 rather than it being the second item in column one.

I agree that this is more difficult than it ought to be and like others I am looking forward to OOo 2.0.
