I suspect that if there is anything about your system that 
is a bit out of kilter, this pre-beta and beta software will
find it and "test" it -- with results that look like the package
is killing your system.

I had a bad disk and it caused 1.9.69 at first to cause the 
quick starter to hang the system on boot. Then it began 
to hang while using OO.o writer. 

Once I fixed the disk problem, and reinstalled OO.o
1.9.69, I am having no sign of either of these problems.
I was CONVINCED that beta software was at fault. 
It was my flakey system. 

I concluded I must be quite careful in assigning blame 
to software.
