That's precisely it, Steve!!

While on the one hand, it is true that MS's XML doc files would be *technically* easier to support, they are doing everything in their power to make it *legally* impossible to do so. At least if you aren't willing to pay licensing fees for the privilege.


But isn't there prior art to this? Was M$ involved with the development of XML? Hasn't SUN got a leg to stand on?


This is another example of how the patent process needs to be revamped.
