Wordpad will open them - didn't know that before.
Opened Word doc in notepad ... OK Opened blank notepad doc and saved (Word format not available in save as) Opened both of these docs in notepad ... only the Wordpad doc was readable. Conclusion: Wordpad (from WinXP) can open MSWord docs.
Hope that doesn't all sound like gibberish
Have you opened the "Word" docs in MSWord ?
