This may be stating the obvious, but it has caught me out on a couple of occasions, you can only unsubscribe using the email address you originally subscribed with.
So if you have mail being redirected to, for example, gmail, as I do, simply clicking on the unsubscribe address at the bottom of a posting, returns a message that I am not subscribed, because the gmail address isn't recognised. You need to remember which email account you originally subscribed from, and unsubscribe from there. There may be other solutions, but that is what I have done in the past.
