It's not that. My own messages mostly have but sometimes do not have 
the unsub info. I'm using email, and always the same client (pegasus)

I doubt whether Mr Martin had made any significant attempt. For one 
thing, I'm not sure I ever saw any actual question from him.

8 complaints; no question. If I were being charitable, I'd suggest he 
signed up to the list, didn't realise what he'd signed up to, and was 
too angry to listen to advice.

OTOH if he were just a troll, he's not done too badly.

As he seems to have gone, perhaps we too should retire from now
