Yes:
o Create a table with two columns and enough rows. It doesn't seem
to matter whether you create one long table and let it split over
pages or just create a separate two-row table for each page - but it
is probably easier to duplicate the material if you have only a single table.
o Create and edit your text in one cell of the table.
o Where you want your number to appear, go to Insert | Fields > |
Other... | Variables.
o Select "Number range" under Type, Table under Selection, and
"Arabic (1 2 3)" under Format.
o Press Insert.
o Copy the contents of your cell.
o Select the entire table.
o Paste the material (once) into all cells.
The inserted field should increment in each cell.
