Interesting... I am also using Ubuntu 8.04.1, and on 4 systems the
extension does not work for me. Can you please confirm that you: 1) are
using OOo 3.0, 2) using the PDF 0.3.1 extension from:
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/node/972
