I have no need to use MS Office in a Microsoft based environment.
Never had a problem (Other than macros) at work. Heck, I have
recovered files that Word refused to open thus saving peoples own
butts and work.

To make more money. Just like Windows 7 is supposed to do.
Why keep MS Office 2003?
You could keep OOo and save as a .doc. There are free viewers
available for all of the MS Office products from MS to check for
consistency and format.
The only reason I cannot get my wife to give up MS Office 2003 is the
grammar checker.

Yes I have the grammar chack extension for Ooo but unfortunately it is
not as good as the MS Office grammar checker.
