I know of one business that uses Works as its main office package. I
am slowly convincing them to switch to OOo. It is hard to convince
a business owner who thinks that MS Works is great for business use.
My advice to you is get the person to try OOo. Give them a free CD with
it on, plus the PDF document files from the web site. Also there are some
great free sites that are tutorials "in pictures". That is how I do
it. "Works"
most of the time. FREE is a great word to convince people to switch.

Wait a minute here.
I said that I uninstall Works. I am not an expert to the conversion of
Works
to OOo. I have used Works maybe 10 times in the past 10 years.
What you need is a local geek to help, not someone on this list. You need
help that works directly with you, not via email.
I have done what you want over the years, but the task is specific to your
data and record needs. There are no one solution fits all. There are
whole
courses in what you want created in this email.
Please, find someone in your area (Texas?). I am in New York state.
