I am pleased that OO.o 3.0.1 is available now at
http://download.openoffice.org/ That's OO.o with JRE. In the past,
when I have fetched OO.o with JRE, the version of JRE has been stale. I looked around on that web site but did not see OO.o 3.0.1 without JRE.

Anybody know where can I find OO.o 3.01 without JRE?

Alternatively if the version of JRE with OO.o 3.0.1 is the same as or
more recent than what I have installed (Sun Java JRE 1.6.x/6.0.110.3)
I'll fetch the version on the web site. How do I determine this?

Yes, it's here. Just uncheck the JRE version.

I just checked the version of JRE on my laptop and it is the latest version.
I download the 3.0.1 update (did not look for the no-JRE file) of OOo
and I still had the latest JRE.
I do not think that when you run an install of a program that has a "Stale"
version of Java, you would "uninstall" the newer version that is on your
computer.

As I said, I have the latest version of Java's JRE. I do not worry about if
OOo has the latest. I just keep my system to check for any updates, including
Java. That is the only way I know to make sure I have the most up to date
system.

Only MS would lay off people to save money when they only
get 4.17 billion in profit from 16 billion in sales. Sales being up
and profit being down. Still 4.17 billion in profit and they need to save
money by laying off 5,000 people.
Will they ask the government for a handout? They already got one
called exclusive contracts with the Feds.
