However, if OOo, as is its wont, includes a much earlier version, like 6u7, then this latter will have to be removed manually after 6u11 is installed. For those running Windows OS, where the problem you mention regarding security vulnerabilities is most topical, the best thing to do, I suggest, is to check the Control Panel after installing a new version to see if any older versions remain (I've seen as many as six different versions of JRE on a single computer)....
