I did what you said. The "1." is where it should be, in the top-left corner of the left cell. I didn't have to do anything to get it there; it just happened. I'm using 3.01 on Ubuntu 8.10. I haven't a clue why it's not working for you.

Same here with a dev build for 3.1 on XP.
The only thing is, that when I have turned on number recognition, "1." changes to a date. But that is by design, and not your problem.


Do you have a small sample that could send me off-list? Perhaps I
can spot something in it that's causing the problem.

Interesting what the problem could be, indeed.
