I can't handle the font issues with 3.01 on Intrepid. It's taking hours of my time trying to figure out workarounds. The problems are identical on Jaunty and it appears none of the Jaunty developers are even noticing the bug reports. (I actually think the problem is most likely in Gnome.)
For what it's worth, the bug report I filed is here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ttf-junicode/+bug/351080 I used 2.4.1 on Intrepid before 3.0 came out. Then I installed 3.0 using the debs from OOo, but did not install the desktop integration because I wanted to keep 2.4.1 for the time being. Eventually I added the PPA repository for 3.0.1 and used it to install 3.0.1, removing 2.4.1. Now I want to go back to 2.4.1 and remove 3.0.1. I can probably figure out how to uninstall 3.0.1, although it would be helpful to know if there are packages to remove that would not show up by searching in Synaptic on "openoffice." Then I can remove the PPA repository, and reinstall 2.4.1. I still have the 2.4.1 .openoffice.org2 configuration file, and I will save a copy of the new 3.0.1 configuration file as well, for when I am finally able to use 3.0.1. However, what will happen when I try to open a file created in 3.0.1 in 2.4.1? Can 2.4.1 open 3.0.1 files? Please say it can! --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
