Well someone sent a reply thread asking why people are having
trouble with time zones. Well, I do not know which zone it was
in. I have a map of the zones somewhere, which I used for
International Shortwave Broadcast listening, but I do not have it
in my head. My 3 strokes prevents that from happening.
By-THE-By
do you know why the USA created its time zones? The railroad
safety board did it to stop so many train wrecks. There were
hundreds of local time zones, based upon local "high noon" of
the sun. Just like the with of the track is based on the width
of two horse's backsides and/or the distance between old time
wagon wheels, which was loosely based upon old Roman army
rules and regs for roadway construction.
Actually, time zones were created by Sanford Fleming.

And here's a time zone converter.

They may have adopted Fleming's work, but before that there
were many, many time zones in the US. Several History Channel
programs agrees with that. It took the railroad to get the
US to go to the "current" time zone standard for business and
travel safety
