The simple answer to that is that most Linux distributions base their
OOo version on the GoOO builds from Novel instead of the "official"
version direct from the OO.o website.  The GoOO builds include
functionality/extras that are not (yet) included (for various reasons)
in the main OOo build.  The Windows version of OOo you are using is from
the OO.o website... so it does not include the MSWorks filter.
