Hi Ian, Maybe I'm not understanding your question in which case, apologies. Who said you can't cut and past from .pdf's? I do it all the time. There's no problem. Below I have cut and pasted a segment from one of the OOo documents from the link you provided. It's from page 7 of this document: http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/userguide3/0101GS3-IntroducingOOo.pdf
"No licensing fees. OOo is free for anyone to use and distribute at no cost. Many features that are available as extra cost add-ins in other office suites (like PDF export) are free with OOo. There are no hidden charges now or in the future. • Open source. You can distribute, copy, and modify the software as much as you wish, in accordance with either of OOo’s Open Source licenses. • Cross-platform. OOo3 runs on several hardware architectures and under multiple operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Sun Solaris." While not beautiful it is perfectly readable. I used the pdf plugin for Firefox, copying and pasting in the normal way. So, as I said, I'm not sure what the problem is. cheers, jonathan -- Registerd Linux user #445917 at http://counter.li.org/ Please do not send me copies of list mail. I read the lists.
