I asked some other questions in another post, but let's go back a bit. The mechanisms to subscribe and to unsubscribe are virtually identical, yet you managed to subscribe. How? Both use an e-mail address specific to the request type, and send a confirmation message to the requesting account. If that account then responds to the confirmation message, the action is completed (subscribing or unsubscribing the account). Unless something about your account changed between the two actions, anything that blocks the unsubscribe request would have blocked the subscribe request, and it did not.
