He probably didn't actually duplicate his post at all -- several of us had posts duplicated for a bit there, so it was really a list management problem. No idea why that happens from time to time....

I agree with most of what's been said here. I just want to point out
that the complaint I did originally, wasn't about the OP's English,
but rather the fact that he sent the same question three times, which
I found a bit annoying. I realize now that he probably didn't do this
by purpose and I apologize if someone was hurt.

In case you have a third language,

       slam ~= tukta

flame ~= skälla ut, med antydning att det är ändemål i för sig

Whining about slamming became popular under the Bush junta and the
whining is occasionally used as an attempt at defense when there are no
technical or factual merits to stand on. For me it stood out most in
the debate to decree "safe" levels of arsenic or mercury in drinking
water, overriding the science and biology indicating no safe maximum
levels. Flaming is often used offensively by the mono crowd and others
under the Microsoft movement in defense of their products or
technologies.

I think the main point here is that we should be willing to cut our fellow
posters a little slack - many may be writing in a language which they
haven't entirely mastered and many may be unfamiliar with lists of this
type. Minor errors of etiquette are therefore best ignored ; doing so has
the added advantage of conserving our resources for the main task - helping
our fellow users with the problems they encounter in using OOo. Besides,
since most of us seem to reside in glass houses, we should be advised to be
careful with stones....

+10, and very well put, Henri.

This needs to be said occasionally on lists such as this where the OP may be
looking up what he wants to type in a translation helper of some sort. We
who speak English as our first and almost only language tend to forget that
the rest of the planet is trying to please us by using English, however
broken the translation may be. We should be thankful that non-English
speakers at least try.
