I've had Open Office since about 1992 - first one I purchased for
$5.00, on CD,
have downloaded revisions, and had version 3 on my computer, but,
somehow, it was deleted,
and I can't find the program in my files - I've tried, unsuccessful,
to download the new 3.1 version and
can't get it to download. Can you help??

You may need to use a download manager, if the problem is the connection
dropping during the download (very common for dialup connections, if
that's what you have). Or get somewhere with a good broadband
connection, like a friend's house or a library, and download to a USB
drive or CD-R, or order a new CD from one of the suppliers named on the
website (no guarantees there from OOo, just listed for convenience). If
you use another location, make sure the version you're getting is the
right one for your own operating system, by default it will be the one
for the computer doing the download.
If the connection dropping is not the problem, we'll need more info to
help, like what page you're starting the download from, what OS you
have, and error messages or other data about exactly what happens.
