I have just tried to compose a letter to someone and, being of
somewhat traditional mind, wanted to put my address at top right of
the page, with the addressee's address at top left. I have in the
past used a frame to position my address, but when I do this with
3.1.1 I find that the spacing between lines is excessive. I tried a
couple of different fonts (Nimbus... and Freeserif) but that made no
difference. Eventually I gave up deleted the frame and used tabs to
position it across, but that's a pain if I ever need to amend the
addressee details.
Can anyone advise me on the best way to achieve my ends?
Two ideas: insert a table with one row and two columns or a section
containing two columns at the top of the page. If using a section,
put a manual column break between the two addresses. In both cases,
the columns do not need to be of equal width. The area below can
revert to a single column.
I trust this helps.
