I suspect that you are entering a return a the end of each line &
thereby starting a new paragraph. The standard spacing for a the
paragraph in the 'Frame contents' style is .08 'Below paragraph'.
You can keep the line spacing the same by:
1. Using Ctrl-Enter at the end of the line,
2. Modify the paragraph (Format|Paragraph|Indents & Spacing,
3. Modifying & using the Adressee and Sender styles.
Personally, if it's a one-off letter I just use #1.
Thanks, you're right about that. Just tried it but found that Ctrl-Enter
on my system puts a paragraph break in! Using Insert-Manual Break-Line
does what I want, so I'll use that. I'm about to bite on the bullet and
replace OO (Ubuntu) with the genuine article, so maybe the Ctrl-Enter
problem might go away.....

I think that's Shift-Enter -- Ctrl-Enter generally is a page break,
though inside a frame it's apparently different.
