Does anyone know a release date for 3.2?

Got any ideas on how long it would be from the release date
of the "final version" and when Ubuntu might place it on their
repository for "upgrade"?

Ubuntu still has several programs on its repository that are
"slightly broken" while the newest versions are several numbers
higher than their repository version. I have to add the repository
from "getdeb.net" to find updated programs. The same is true with
the last time I installed OOo on 32-bit and 64-bit Ubuntu.

I want to upgrade to the 3.2 version as soon as I can, while for some
reason[s] the non-repository install seems not to work for me, for
whatever the reason[s].

Ask on launchpad questions.

Ask on launchpad questions?

I know that once in a while you can get a newer version on it than
Ubuntu's repositories, but the question was how long it might be
before Ubuntu has 3.2 in it's repository once it comes out for general
use.

The answer I got from someone off this list is not good. It looks
like Ubuntu may not provide an upgrade to their 3.x version to 3.2
until they change version from 9.10 to 9.15 or 9.20.

I would love to see an "official" OOo repository out there that would
keep users up-to-date using the update manager system, but that would
be something that would take effort outside the "norm". Too many
Linux flavors to keep up-to-date with different repository/RPM styles.

I just was wondering though about Ubuntu's updating cycle.
It just would be easier if they would keep their system up-to-date
with the latest versions of popular software like OOo.
