Try going back to the web site and look for the pages of documentation for Calc. The program's Help feature is also rather good, at least for getting started. Take one thing at a time that's something you'll need, and learn it, then go to the next one and so on.
What you want to do sounds relatively simple. I don't know what "invinate" means but everything I do understand is straight forward and easy to do. Start simple, get it working, and then do the whole project after you've figured out what you're doing.
