That said, OOo is being migrated to a new infrastructure. Take a look
here: http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/Home and join in if
you're interested in what can be made better. There's even a section on
Mailing Lists here:
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/MailListsMigration
Why in $deity's_name go to all the toruble to migrate to a different but
still PROPRIETARY list manager?!?!
Please, for criminy's sake, just migrate to mailman and be done with it.
The OOo Migration project is much much more than just a mailing list
replacement.
According to the Kenai Wiki, the mailing list engine is Sympa
http://kenai.com/projects/help/pages/MailingLists
Sympa is a GPL mailing list management application - ie it's not
proprietary. http://www.sympa.org/
Kenai itself is built on Apache2, Ruby on Rails, Glassfish, MySQL,
memcached, and so on...
Please do a little reading to find out what Kenai and the OOo Migration
project is all about. It is an interesting project.
