Your registered as "[email protected]" but your right that your ISP is
doing something funky with the addresses.

You could try the following:
"By far the most common mailing list problem is attempting to unsubscribe
from an address that is not subscribed. If you need to unsubscribe a
specific address, say "[email protected]", send a blank email to
[email protected]. "

If you wish for me to unsubscribe you from both lists, please send a
separate email to the 'owner' addresses below to confirm (I only ask this
since you have contributed over 100 posts since 2005).

I do, and hence the reply. I don't ignore messages sent to me but I've not
been owner/moderator for as long as you've been subscribed so potentially
its been a while since you've asked to be unsubscribed.

Just to reassure everyone emails to either [email protected] or
[email protected] will be responded...

Yes there is a moderator and owner for both the users and discuss list.
Moderation for these lists is not the same as other's - search the mail
archive for definitions.
