I have this problem and, as another poster suggested, it's because I am using a laptop. I did once see a solution for this, which involved disabling the mouseplate when typing and for about two seconds after one stopped, but I think I was using linux at the time and got the tip from ubuntu forums. I've just searched the OOo archives using several apparently appropriate search terms without luck. However, one thread I found suggested using a usb mouse and turning the mouseplate off. You might try this. I'll test it myself on my Mac laptop. //James
