To all users of Open Office 3,

When I type, my cursor seems to randomly move to a new location causing my typing to be shown at areas that I do not choose!

Is there a correction for this problem! It makes my typing a horror show, and very frustrating to use Open Office.

This software seems to be excellent, yet this problem will cause me too much anguish!

I have this problem and, as another poster suggested, it's because I am using a laptop. I did once see a solution for this, which involved disabling the mouseplate when typing and for about two seconds after one stopped, but I think I was using linux at the time and got the tip from ubuntu forums. I've just searched the OOo archives using several apparently appropriate search terms without luck.

However, one thread I found suggested using a usb mouse and turning the mouseplate off. You might try this. I'll test it myself on my Mac laptop.
