I suspect it's not the low battery  but could be a poor USB connection, if
the defect is within the laptop prt itself.  We just bought a brand new
mouse with it's own USB connector and the jumping around is the same with
both meese.  I just turned off the mouse then pulled & replugged the USB
gadget.  We'll see if that's it.

And yes, Gene, I'm positive my thumbs are on the spacebar or curled against
my hand, not touching the pad.
