I assume you are replying to my post. Your email program broke the threading.

I state the basically the same (used contributors instead of committers) in my reply to Rob when he asked "Does this require anything from the ooo-users moderators, or can this be done by you, since this is a public mailing list that anyone can subscribe to,"

The next post stated "if no one raises any concerns in next 72 hours, just go and 
add the list".

Too much contradictory advice on that list. It will drive people away (has 
already done so).

What you can do on the list is suggest the options that would work best
just to be sure that all of you GMANE users have something that works
for you and for those who receive the list in e-mail.
My suggestions:
Posting permissions    √ Posting allowed (default)

Encrypt addresses  do not check this box unless you want Dennis upset about 
subjects getting munged

The other options are pretty obvious
