Dear Users:
I very much thank everyone who so patiently helped me with my GIMP problem.
It is now loaded and running, and looks to have more than I need --
without all the fluff of PShop.
And while PShop was a real dude when I discovered ti years ago
(especially the "skew" tool - no more paralax in my slides), I was never
able to do simple things, like making a successful mask. Anyway, I seem
to be on the way to trashing PSHOP and saving tons of space.
Still, I am a bit perturbed that on GIMPs main page I can find nothing
which directs me to the Windows Installation page. How did youall find
that url?
Thanks again. I now have to re-learn much of my picture editing skill,
but hopefully it won't be crashing on me.
Richard
PS
What about the patch <patch-2.2.8.gz
<ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v2.2/patch-2.2.8.gz>>? Did it automatically
get caught up in the Installation? It just seems to be sitting there in
the Download files, with all the other GIMP stuff. And
<pkconfig-0018.tar.gz>? Was that really needed? I was never able to open
it either.
Ah me. So many mysteries. Such as the left navigation pane on GIMP page.
It says: "donating / bugs" under Getting Infolved?? Should I send my old
PhotoShop?
