I'm not sure what you  mean by "filters" How are you trying to open
the file? Are you

In the file open dialog, there is a "filters" pull-down selection that
can be set to a specific file-type or set to all files. Is this what
you are refering to? If so, then the setting of "text document" or
"all files" will allow you to see the "odt" files
(By the way, I think you meant odt and not obt)
(And by the way, I think you meant 1.9.79 and not 1.9.7 - whichever
you really meant, you should consider upgrading to the latest beta -
especially if you really meant 1.9.7)
