The DWG format is AutoCAD's format. Googling for "dwg reader" showed me
579 hits. There are a number of free applications. Since the file
appears to have come from AutoCAD (it can output to DXF, too), there
could be a problem with the translation to DXF from DWG.

I received this file from the one who sold me an appartment. He also
sent it in .dwg format. Could I have more luck with that?

Hi Albert,
It works for me. 'file / open' choose 'dxf' as the file type. The file
opens in draw. Maybe your dxf is invalid. Can you open in another program?

Googling I saw that openoffice can import .dxf files. I am using
version 2.0 under Linux but I can't find the import function and when I
open the .dxf an "Invalid file format" error.
Do I need a plugin? If so, where is it?
