You will find that when you put the floppy back in your old computer
the icons will magically change back --- if you don't have ms word
installed on your new computer how would you expect it to know what
the icons should look like?
Thanks

The problem I have is that if I prepare any files (text or images)
on the
old computer in my original Windows 'Word' format and save them to a
floppy but later insert that floppy in new computer the '3 ½" window
immediately opens showing the 'Open Office' icons even though the
actual
contents are in M/S WORD format. Why has 'O/O' taken over my icon
signs and
can I change to the normal 'Word' icons where these apply?
It hasn't. During the install process you must have agreed that in
future your
Openoffice should, apart from genuine Openoffice files, also open
Word files
when you click on them.+
This can be changed. For details see here:
