I am assuming you have opened your resume doc in OOo (OpenOffice.org). Does the frame you see also show when you print the document? If not, then the "frame" you describe is just a simple on screen guide for your margin positions. This can be turned off by unchecking "Menu -> View -> Text Boundaries".
