For checking, if the download was corrupt or not, please use a program
for checking the MD5Sum. You'll find useful informations here:
http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/using_md5sums.html

When you have only a dial-up-connection to the internet, you can use a
download-manager, for downloading the program in parts. For more help
about this, take a look at the FAQ:
