Pictures cannot be opened direcly in OpenOffice.org
You can insert them in a document: text, spreadsheet, drawing,
presentation ... Usually: Insert|Picture|From file.
In a document, you can do some things with pictures. Either with help of
the picture toolbar or from the dialog (double-click on the picture).
