Compatibility very much depends upon which component of MS Office you are referring to. The OOo (OpenOffice.org) can open and save files in MS Office format (eg. .doc, .xls, .ppt) with a high degree of compatibility. However, due mainly to cross platform and propriety software issues, OOo uses Star Basic not VBA for macros. While similar in syntax Star Basic and VBA macros are not interchangeable. Consequently, if your documents utilise VBA macros you may not find this a workable solution. Please reply to [email protected] only. Hope this helps.
